A discussion on the psychology behind effective (and non- effective) communication could be really interesting.
What does the manner in which we communicate, and the type of words we use say about us? Can we communicate successfully when we perhaps use language differently from one another? Can changing the way in which we communicate bring us closer together? Can our individual personalities/beliefs/vunerabilities/defenses alter how we communicate, and perceive communication from others.
I re-iterate that as one of the hosts of this meet up group, I am 100% a lay person in this field...and all backgrounds, whether highly academically trained...or simply interested in a good discussion are all equally welcome.
